I’m an award-winning International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Registered Midwife and Infant Feeding Specialist based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

I support families locally and across West Yorkshire with breastfeeding, chest feeding, bottle feeding, combination feeding, expressing and all the wonderfully confusing bits in between.

You don’t need to know what’s wrong before you contact me.

I’ll listen to your story and journey, watch what’s happening with feeding where appropriate, explain the WHY behind it and help you make a realistic plan that works for your family.

When might an IBCLC help?

You might be looking for help because:

  • breastfeeding is painful

  • your baby won’t latch

  • your baby keeps pulling off

  • feeds are very long or, very frequent

  • your baby clicks, gulps or splutters

  • you’re worried about milk supply

  • you’re dealing with fast let-down or over-supply

  • your baby seems unsettled during or after feeds

  • you’re worried about weight gain or milk transfer

  • you’re struggling with pumping

  • your baby refuses a bottle

  • you’re combination feeding and want a plan

  • you’re concerned about tongue function or tongue-tie

  • you’re returning to work

  • or, you simply have a feeling that something isn’t right.

What happens during an appointment?

We’ll start with your story.

I’ll ask about your pregnancy, birth, feeding so far, your baby and your goals.

Where appropriate, I’ll observe a feed and assess what’s happening with positioning, attachment, milk transfer and your baby’s oral function.

Then we’ll work out what might be contributing to the problem and what your options are.

You won’t be left with a list of things you’re supposed to do without understanding why.

I’ll leave you with a personalised feeding plan, practical strategies and the confidence to adapt as your baby changes.
